2024 MLB MVP Odds: Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuna Are Favorites

Shohei Ohtani has won two of the past three AL MVP awards, but he’s now in the National League after signing his behemoth contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Meanwhile, he’s one of three Dodgers who are directly behind reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr to take home the award in 2024.

Juan Soto (+600) –  Soto playing in Yankees Stadium and in a contract year? It’s easy to see why he has the second-shortest odds to win his first MVP award as he moves to the American League for the first time in his career.

Julio Rodriguez (+1000) – J-Rod looked like he was the victim of the sophomore slump a year ago, struggling mightily to start the year. However, he finished so strong that he ended up fourth in MVP voting. He figures to be in the thick of the MVP race once again, especially if he maintains his high level of play for a full 162 games in 2024.

Mike Trout (+2000) – The Angels look to be among the worst teams in baseball, and he’s been hurt a ton in recent seasons, but he’s still Mike freakin’ Trout. He’s won three MVP awards in his career, which is tied for second most all-time, and this is far and away the longest odds he’s had since entering the league.

Ronald Acuna Jr. (+500) –  Acuna looks to become the first back-to-back NL MVP since Albert Pujols in 2008-09. He was a unanimous winner last year, hitting .337 with 41 home runs, 106 RBI, 149 runs and 73 stolen bases.

Shohei Ohtani (+950) – Ohtani won the AL MVP in 2023 and 2021 and finished second in 2022 thanks to his prowess as a pitcher and a hitter. His odds are much higher this year than recent seasons as he’ll only hit as he recovers from a torn elbow ligament.

Corbin Carroll (+2200) – Carroll was magnificent in his first full year in the big leagues, hitting .285 with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 116 runs and 54 stolen bases to win Rookie of the Year honors. He finished fifth in MVP voting last season, and most expect him to take another step forward in 2024.
